COLOMBIA, SC (WIS) – With just a few days left for President Donald Trump’s term, lawmakers are debating whether to oust the incumbent president before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.
Many in Congress are considering whether to oust the incumbent president and Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) believes that a vote to oust Trump will do more harm than good.
“President Trump has eight days left in his term and has promised a smooth and peaceful power transition,” Scott said in a statement released on Tuesday. “The Democrat-led impeachment negotiations taking place in the House now fly in direct opposition to what President-elect Joe Biden has been advocating for all year. An impeachment vote will only lead to more hatred and a deeply fragmented nation. I oppose President Trump’s impeachment. ”
