The actor also wore a wedding ring before his death, but close friend Dan Block, president of Insurance Kings, insisted that the ring was just a way of showing his dedication to Misner during their relationship.

The ex-couple, who met in Pennsylvania, had already suffered long after Misner suffered a miscarriage in 2004.

Tash, a certified pharmacy technician, said she was devastated and that her entire world was turned upside down. But she said she would love it the last time he managed to speak to her – just the day before he died.

Diamond was still on the stretcher in the front room of the house while the hospice worker and his friend Jules were preparing their room when Tash found him breathless.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards by emergency personnel.
