San Francisco Giants Acquires Minnesota Twins’ LaMonte Wade Jr. from Shaun Anderson

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Giants increased the depth of the field by acquiring LaMonte Wade Jr. of the Minnesota Twins on Thursday for right-handed Shaun Anderson.

The team announced the move hours after completing a $ 18.75 million three-year contract with versatile field player Tommy La Stella. Baseball operations president Farhan Zaidi said while discussing the deal with La Stella, who hoped to add a left-handed outfielder. Wade can play in all three positions.

Wade, 27, had a 0.231 hit in 16 games for the Twins last season, while also playing at the club’s alternative training venue. He has appeared in 42 major league games since his debut in 2019. He was a ninth-round selection in the 2015 Maryland draft.

Anderson, 26, did not make a decision on 18 relief trips during the 2020 shortened pandemic season, ending with a 3.52 ERA.
