Rush Limbaugh says he didn’t expect to be alive at one last exciting show in 2020

“You have no idea what you all meant to me and my family,” said the 69-year-old radio announcer at the end of “The Rush Limbaugh Show” on December 23. “The day will come, folks where I won’t be able to do that.”
The conservative political commentator is an ally of Trump. He received the Freedom Medal during the State of the Union address in February.

Limbaugh reflected on the year, saying, “I don’t know many people who liked 2020 – probably some crazy people out there who liked it – but 2021 has to be better.” He added: “I was not expected to be alive today.”

The radio host was diagnosed with lung cancer in January. He shared his cancer diagnosis in February and in October announced that his cancer is terminal.

He closed the program, which has been on the air for over 30 years, saying, “I wish there was a way to say this other than thanks. You are simply the best. My family is simply the best.
