Rose McGowan said on Monday that she supports Evan Rachel Wood, after the actress’s abuse charges against her ex, Marilyn Manson.
The “Charmed” star, who dated Manson previously, tweeted: “I’m with Evan Rachel Wood and other brave women who performed. It takes years to recover from abuse and send forces on their recovery journey. Let the truth be revealed. Let the healing begin. “
McGowan, 47, and Manson, 52, were engaged for two years before breaking up in 2001.
Earlier on Monday, Wood – who was also engaged to the shock rocker – named Manson as his alleged attacker.
“The name of my attacker is Brian Warner, also known worldwide as Marilyn Manson,” posted the 33-year-old actress on Instagram.
“He started to prepare me when I was a teenager and he abused me terribly for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated to become submissive, ”continued Wood. “I am here to expose this dangerous man and summon the many industries that have enabled him, before he destroys more lives. I have many victims who will not remain silent. “
Manson addressed the allegations on Monday night.
“Obviously, my art and my life have always been magnets for controversy, but these recent statements about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to distort the past, that’s the truth, ”he wrote on Instagram.
Manson’s record label, Loma Vista, has since abandoned him in the wake of Wood’s allegations.
“In light of the disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their attacker, Loma Vista will no longer promote her current album, with immediate effect,” said Loma Vista on Monday in a statement to Variety.
“Due to these worrying developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects,” continued the statement.
Former porn star Jenna James also talked about her latest affair with Manson, saying she dumped him for allegedly fantasizing about burning her alive.
“Our relationship was strange. We didn’t go out for long because I cut it after he said nonchalantly that he had fantasies about burning me alive. Sexually, he liked to bite, and it was disconcerting, ”Jameson told the Daily Mail of his 1997 adventure.
