Ron Kim felt “on fire” while Cuomo bros played amid deaths in nursing homes

Queens MP Ron Kim – who was outspoken about being bullied and threatened by Governor Andrew Cuomo over the nursing home scandal – says he felt “on fire” and stopped watching TV for six months after seeing the news anchor. CNN Chris Cuomo amusingly interviewing his brother the death toll from COVID-19 has increased among nursing home residents.

“I was on the floor, yelling at my constituents that they couldn’t see their loved ones, that they knew COVID was broadcasting, and they were literally watching their loved ones die of agony and pain alone, without a funeral,” Kim, whose uncle died of coronavirus while living in one of the facilities, said the radio program “Fox Across America”, Fox News reported.

“I turned on the TV and saw his brother [Chris Cuomo] and Andrew telling jokes. I stopped watching TV for six months, ”Kim told host Jimmy Failla.

“I couldn’t take it because I sometimes felt like I was on fire and thought, ‘Am I living in another reality? What is happening?’ Like, why aren’t people telling the truth? ” he said.

“I literally felt so demoralized and my voters, I had a re-election, they said to me, ‘Don’t attack the governor. He’s voting for 80 percent, 90 percent. You will lose your reelection if you attack the governor, ”continued Kim.

“I didn’t care because people were dying. People needed justice, people needed the truth. And it wasn’t just me, ”said Kim. “There were many other courageous and courageous civil servants who spoke at the same time. But how do you compete when you have a brother on CNN giving you coverage every night on national TV? “

Kim is one of several Democrats who attacked the Cuomo order that required health care facilities to accept patients with COVID-19 released from hospitals. The directive was enacted on March 25, 2020 and terminated in May of that year.

His comments were made a day after Chris Cuomo told CNN viewers that he would not cover his brother’s growing list of scandals, including allegations of sexual harassment, because they are brothers.

Kim called for the governor’s impeachment because of the nursing home scandal that saw state officials intentionally obscure the extent of the coronavirus death toll at the facility.

He claimed that the governor called him into his home, threatening to “destroy” his political career, unless he helped to mitigate the damage from the growing scandal.

He is also one of nine members of the Assembly who accused Cuomo of engaging in “obstruction of justice” for hiding the true record of asylum residents killed by COVID-19.

This occurs when Cuomo is also involved in a growing sexual harassment scandal involving two former advisers and another woman, and the Legislature in Albany is about to oust him from his emergency powers at COVID-19.
