An FBI hunt for a double by Rick Moranis who participated in the Capitol rebellion on January 6 made the actor a trending topic on social media on Sunday.

Moranis became a trend on Twitter after the FBI posted a photo of a different man who allegedly participated in the riot at the United States Capitol building, the New York Post reported.

Photos of the man wanted for questioning by federal investors show that he bears some resemblance to the actor, especially in his role in the hit comedy ‘Spaceballs’.

‘You can help the #FBI to identify the individuals involved in the January 6 violence at the United States Capitol. Visit http://tips.fbi.gov if you recognize this person. Refer to photo 268 in your tip, ‘the FBI tweeted on Sunday alongside two photos of the man.

Twitter users quickly noticed the similarities between the suspect in a helmet and glasses and the Toronto-born star. And, of course, if the FBI was really looking for Moranis, it is assumed that they could find him.

On Twitter, people responded to the similarity to the dozens with screenshots of the 1987 Star Wars parody, ‘Spaceballs’, in which Moranis played a parody of Darth Vader wearing a giant helmet and glasses, called a ‘Black Helmet’.
