Rescue dog rescues blind pitbull from drowning in pool

A dog is being praised for saving an elderly, blind pit bull from drowning in his family’s pool in Argentina on December 19.

A surveillance camera in Julieta Firpo’s backyard captured the moment when her pit bull, Luna, walked near the edge of the pool before accidentally falling into the water.

In a Facebook post, she said that Luna, 14, recently became “disoriented”.

However, when the other dog of the family, Caipirinha, saw her canine companion slip into the water, she ran to help.

Firpo’s video shows the black puppy walking up and down the pool while Luna paddles, trying to find her way out:

Luna has 14 years, is blind and we have the last few days to be disoriented. Ayer wandering around the patio if she dies…

At one point, Luna swam to the corner of the pool and Caipirinha touched her nose. Moments later, she appeared to guide the pit bull along the water’s edge toward the stairs.

As soon as Luna climbed the stairs, Caipirinha grabbed Luna’s collar and dragged her out of the water to safety. The pit bull lay in the yard for a moment before getting up and leaving.

Firpo said the two dogs became friends after his family rescued Caipirinha during their vacation in Brazil, when they saw their owners dropping her out of a car window at a gas station.

“The two are inseparable. Luna is a very old pit bull, her mother, Syrah, is 15 years old and also lives with us ”, explained Firpo.

In her translated post on Facebook, she said: “Desperate Caipirinha did everything possible to guide her up the stairs and help her out,” adding that she was the family’s heroine.

Followers of Firpo’s social media expressed their joy at seeing the rescue, calling it incredible and incredible.

“Oh my God, this is so precious and scary! Yes, you have 2 special dogs there! Wow! “One person wrote.

“This is the sweetest of all !!!” another user commented.
