Report: Robert Saleh hiring John Benton, Greg Knapp, Rob Calabrese as offensive assistants

Jets coach Robert Saleh is not just bringing Mike LaFleur from the San Francisco offensive team.

According to Mike Silver of NFL media, Saleh is hiring The 49ers offensive line coach, John Benton, will be the offensive line coach / coordinator of the New York racing game. Benton has been with the 49ers since Kyle Shanahan took over as head coach in 2017. He also worked with Saleh with Jacksonville in 2016 and with Houston from 2006-2010.

Silver reports that Saleh is also hiring former Falcons quarterback coach Greg Knapp to serve in the same position for the Jets. He and Saleh met the Texans in 2010. And Rob Calabrese will be the New York pass game specialist after spending the past two years as Denver’s offensive quality control coach.
