According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Indianapolis Colts tight-tip trainer Jason Michael is the last coach to join the former offensive coordinator Nick SirianniNew Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff:
The #Eagles are hiring Jason Michael as their tight-ended coach, the source said. Michael – the first #Titans OC – trained TEs in the last two seasons with #Colts. Another connection with Nick Sirianni.

Michael has just completed his second season as coach of the Colts tight ends, with over 18 years of coaching experience.
It is unclear why he made a side move to join Siranni’s team – although perhaps he is just close to the Eagles’ new football coach.
Regarding the Colts’ tight-tip production last season:
- Mo Alie-Cox: 31 receptions for 394 reception yards (average 12.7 years) and 2 touchdown receptions during 15 games.
- Jack Doyle: 23 receptions for 251 reception yards (average 10.9 years) and 3 touchdown receptions during 14 games.
- Trey Burton: 28 receptions for 250 reception yards (average 8.9 years) and 3 touchdown receptions during 13 games.
In particular, despite the limited playing time and struggling with a persistent knee injury, Alie-Cox had an escape season for the Colts, as he was the PFF’s 5th best rated overall tight end with an overall score of +81 , 0.
Having already lost Sirianni, coach of the defenders Jonathan Gannon, and expert gaming pass Kevin Patullo for the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season, the Colts have just seen another coach hunted down – while Michael joins the growing list of rejected Colts players going to the City of Brotherly Love.
As such, Indianapolis has another coach job to fill – only this time in the positional group with tight ends.
