California deputy Devin Nunes, R-Calif., Believes Republicans may face pressure to impeach President Biden if the party gains control of the House midway through the 2022 term.
The aftermath of the January 6 riot on the United States Capitol saw ex-President Donald Trump removed from social media platforms and the closure of Parler – a platform popular with Trump supporters.
If some social media platforms return, it could allow Republicans to spread “good information” to voters and help the party recover the House, the consequences of which could be significant, Nunes told Sean Hannity on Wednesday night.

“If we start to spread good information to the American people, Republicans will have a good chance of taking the Chamber in 2022,” said Nunes in “Hannity”.
“Now, if that happens, and we will – for example, we don’t know what will happen to Hunter Biden’s laptop. We don’t know what will happen with the Durham investigation. But I can see that the pressure would become great for us to have to really have to accuse Biden, “added Nunes.
Nunes stressed that he would not like the current president to be impeached, but that “you will have people who will say that”. The deputy did not specify what charges the president could face.

Republicans will enter the mid-term of 2022 with a small minority, needing to overturn just seven seats – a possibly small task considering the number of seats the party won in 2020.
House minority leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Said the party made “big gains” when it won 12 seats in November. Polls projected that Democrats would enjoy their majority in 2020, but that’s not how it happened.
The strong 2020 display positioned Republicans to make similar gains mid-term in 2022, according to the voting website FiveThirtyEight: the current presidential party has historically lost an average of 27 seats in the House in the mid-term elections, reported the website.

The campaign arm for House Republicans is singling out 47 seats currently occupied by what they consider to be “vulnerable Democrats”, which they see as “major resumption opportunities” for the Republican Party in the 2022 midterm elections.
