Reggie Fils-Aimé, others will leave GameStop’s board of directors

Last year, we reported that Reggie Fils-Aimé would join GameStop’s board of directors alongside Bill Simon and JK Symancyk to help the company “turn around”. of directors, among five other directors, at the GameStop annual meeting in June, in accordance with Form 10-K of the GameStop Investor Meeting that occurred yesterday.

The retirements of Fils-Aimé, Simon, Symancyk and the other directors come after a turbulent year for GameStop due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent unpredictability of GameStop’s share price thanks to r / wallstreetbets taking a zealous interest in the shares earlier this year.

There is no way to say exactly what GameStop’s plan is from here, as retirements will leave them with a board of directors made up of just three people and, as they stated on their 10-K form, fluctuations in their share prices “are often unrelated or disproportionate to operational performance.”
