Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of drunk driving, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed to KVVU-TV.
Jacobs, 22, was arrested near McCarran airport in Las Vegas, just hours after the Raiders won the regular season final against the Denver Broncos. The police responded to a report of a car accident at 4:42 am and found Jacobs, who had suffered minor injuries in the collision. They suspected that he was “debilitated” and he was charged with drunk driving after being treated at a local hospital.
According to KVVU-TV, Jacobs was released from custody on Monday and his next hearing is scheduled for March 8.
The Raiders released a statement to the Associated Press, saying they are aware of the incident, but made no comments other than the team “taking these issues seriously”:
#Raiders on reports of Josh Jacobs’ arrest for DUI: “The Raiders are aware of the situation surrounding Josh Jacobs. The organization takes these matters seriously and we have no further comments at the moment.”
