DMX attorney Murray Richman said the hip-hop artist, whose real name is Earl Simmons, had a heart attack.
“I got a call this morning that Earl Simmons was in the hospital at White Plains Hospital and that he had a heart attack, and I’m not sure how he was induced and that he’s on life support,” said Richman.
Richman did not say whether the rapper overdosed, as reported by various media outlets.
“I spoke with the family and the family and we are very close. I am concerned for his well-being and aware of his importance. I have known Earl for over 25 years and I believe his music is very moving, very important. He is really a poet of our time, “said Richman.
Richman said Simmons was making a movie.
On Saturday, good wishes came from many celebrities on social media.
