Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said he was harassed by a “Karen” at the gym for refusing to wear a mask on the treadmill.
“I was on the treadmill the other day and a little Karen goes and tells people ‘he is on a treadmill and running without a mask'”, scoffed Paul during an interview with Tucker Carlson Friday. “Is this the world we are going to live in, where everyone is denouncing everyone and the Gestapo is going to come and arrest him?”
Paul used his appearance to also attack Anthony Fauci, now serving as President Biden’s chief medical advisor. Paul accused the doctor of lying about the risks of immunological populations spreading the disease, in order to promote general adherence to the mask.
“There is no news or scientific studies saying that after vaccination there is some kind of widespread contagion that vaccinated people are spreading the disease,” said Paul. “What Fauci is not going to tell you is that he is telling you a noble lie. He’s lying to you because he doesn’t think we’re smart enough to make decisions. His fear is that if the vaccinee stops using the mask, the non-vaccine will say that the hell I’m not wearing the mask, either. “
Like a large number of his colleagues and employees in Washington, Rand Paul is a survivor of the coronavirus, contracted in April 2020.
Fauci stepped back against Paul, telling him at a Senate hearing on Thursday that masks were not “theater”.
“When you talk about reinfection and don’t type in the concept of variants, this is a totally different game, it’s a good reason for a mask”, Fauci I told him.
