Colts defensive striker DeForest Buckner won the AFC Defense Player of the Month, while Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is the Offensive Rookie of the Month.
As the Colts advanced into the postseason, Buckner appeared in spectacular fashion. Last month, Buckner produced 18 tackles, six tackles for a loss, two defended passes, a forced fumble and seven colossal sacks.
Taylor was also instrumental in Indy’s playoff race. In the last five games of the regular season, Taylor scored eight touchdowns in total, including eight on the ground. He ran for 651 yards, with an excellent average of 6.7 per load. Added were 10 receptions for 72 yards, while Taylor had an average of 144.6 yards of scrimmage per game.
AFC Special Teams Player of the Month went to Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson. He was a perfect 10 to 10 on field goals in the last five games and 14 to 15 on extra points.
Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos provided stability and then a little bit on the way to winning the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month. Santos lost just one point after the attempt, making 16 of 17 and was an excellent 12 of 12 in field goals.
