Prince William and Kate Middleton secretly have a new dog

Before his beloved dog, Lupo, passed away, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge secretly welcomed a new puppy into their lives!

According to a new report, the family of five recently received a black cocker spaniel. The dog was a gift from ex-Kate Middleton’s brother James Middleton and came to the family at his Norfolk home before Lupo’s death, The Mail on Sunday detailed.

Her three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, have already been brought in with the new addition to their family. The black puppy is currently about eight months old, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte helped mom and dad choose the special puppy from the litter.

The duchess’s brother shared an Instagram post in July that announced that Lupo’s sister Luna had a litter of six puppies. He said that although he was saddened by the dogs’ departure, his “new homes are full of love”.

“You might be scared at first, okay,” he continued. “Be yourself and you will never understand how much happiness you will bring to your new families and all the people you meet. Make me proud and remember to write. Much love, ❤️🐾”

The Mail on Sunday says the new addition to the royal family is the black puppy owned by James Middleton’s fiancee, Alizée Thevenet.

In November 2020, the Duke and Duchess shared the moving news of Lupo’s death to Kensington’s Royal Instagram account. “Unfortunately, last weekend, our beloved dog Lupo passed away,” they wrote next to a photo of their dog. “He has been in the heart of our family for the past nine years and we are going to miss him a lot.”

The family did not share the cause of Lupo’s death.

Lupo joined the royal family in 2012, according to Hello. The cocker spaniel was also a gift from the duchess’s brother, James, after their wedding in April 2011. Her brother raised a litter of puppies in 2011 and kept one for himself, but gave Lupo to Kate in early 2012, when the prince William was assigned to the Malvinas.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis celebrated another special moment last month with their parents: their first time on the red carpet!

The duke and duchess had a night out with their three children in December to attend a holiday performance that paid tribute to essential UK workers and their families. The royal couple joined the National Health Service team, delivery drivers, emergency services staff, charity workers, as well as volunteers at the event, all invited to the National Lottery’s “Pantoland no Palladium”.

Prince William gave a speech before the show to thank the audience, saying, “You have given your absolute throughout this year and have made remarkable sacrifices.”

“The same thing happened with your families, who I am sure have seen much less of you than they would like,” he continued. “You are a representative of the large number of people across the UK who have stepped forward to make a difference this year in many crucial ways. The country is deeply indebted to you. “
