Prince Harry did not quote the royals he blames for the worst allegations in his interview with Oprah Winfrey – but he did show clear “repressed anger” at Prince Charles’ father, according to body language experts.
“I think what specifically emerged was his anger at his father,” author and body language expert Judi James told Metro UK.
“He spoke fondly about the Queen, he spoke lovingly for his brother, William,” James insisted on the interview, which aired Sunday in the United States and Monday in the United Kingdom.
“But when your dad was mentioned, the dramatic pause that lasted several seconds before he said it kind of said it all, actually.
“And it was then that he started to blink rapidly. He sighed, he did a leg shake, he poked his tongue, “said James,
“So this is where probably the main focus of resentment seems to be,” she argued.
Many viewers noticed the moment when Harry seemed to show resentment at the moment when his father “stopped taking my calls”.
The prince also admitted that there was “a lot of pain” between father and son and that he still had work to “heal” their relationship.
“I feel very disappointed. Because he went through something similar. He knows what the pain is like, and Archie is his grandson, ”Harry told Oprah about Charles, the heir to the UK throne.
James said that Harry made “no real effort to mask” his feelings, that she told Sun they were clearly “suppressed anger”.
The prince also “did not come as a kind of pet” and his body language expressed that “he really wanted to tell his story and no one was forcing him to do so,” said James.
Meghan Markle, meanwhile, appeared as “regal and elegant” and looked genuine, James told Metro UK.
“She did not exaggerate her emotions,” said the body language expert.
“I know she is an actress, but we saw the tears coming out of her eyes,” she said, adding that her voice failed, “which is a very difficult call for an actress to simulate.”
She also said that the couple seemed genuine in their close bond.
“They intertwined their fingers, so it was as tight as you can get, and you could see them, one would be rubbing his thumb on the other’s hands, even within that handshake,” she said.
