Forget Oprah – James Corden is available to listen.
The host of “The Late Late Show” took Prince Harry to the recent California transplant on a guided tour of Los Angeles, boarding a double-decker bus for afternoon tea while Corden pretended to show Harry the homes of the rich and famous, including what he thought they could ‘was David Schwimmer’s address.
Although Corden forged his way through real estate in Los Angeles, he and Harry stopped at the royal house featured in “The Fresh Price of Bel-Air”, where Harry impressed the CBS host by rapping the show’s iconic theme song.
While there, Harry and Corden met with the family who live in the mansion and joked about buying from them. Although he didn’t snap the coveted property, Harry used the bathroom.
Corden also talked to Harry about why he and his now pregnant wife, Meghan Markle, not only left the UK, but also chose to waive their royal obligations.
“He was never leaving – he was taking a step back instead of going down,” Harry, 36, clarified to Corden. “It was a very difficult environment, as I think a lot of people saw it. We all know what the British press can be like and it was destroying my mental health. I was like, ‘This is toxic.’
“So I did what any husband and father would do, like, I need to get my family out of here.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left England for a $ 14 million estate in Montecito, California, to raise their son, Archie, and their growing family. Despite moving to the other side of the pond, Harry insisted that he and Meghan, 39, not abandon their obligations.
“But we never moved away. And, as far as I’m concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never give up, ”he said. “I will always be contributing, but my life is a public service, so wherever I am in the world, it will be the same.”
Harry’s conversation with Corden echoed his and Meghan’s official statement that refuted Queen Elizabeth II’s announcement that the pair had resigned. In the concise answer, the couple said they were “committed” to a life of service, as it is “universal”.
Meghan appeared briefly on the duo’s FaceTime Harry tour, whom she calls “Haz”, to prevent him from succumbing to Corden’s pressure to buy the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” mansion.
“I think we’ve moved around enough,” she joked.
Although they don’t move to the famous mansion, Harry paid tribute to the sitcom by rapping on his famous introduction with the help of Tony winner, Corden.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey will air on CBS on March 7.
