The choir that performed during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was picked up in the tabloid battle with the couple.

Before Oprah’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a series of reports brought the Kingdom Chorus into the mix.

In the aftermath of the bullying complaints against Meghan, The Sunday Times said a source said the couple did not make things easy for the choir, requesting several interpretations of “Stand By Me”.

Earlier this week, Mrs. Karen Gibson, founder and conductor, said TMZ that Prince Charles had invited them to perform. The newspaper said Gibson found it difficult to believe that Prince Charles was the one who expressed concern about how dark Archie’s skin might be. Various media outlets took the story and published it.

The Kingdom Choir felt compelled to release its own statement, in its own words, to clarify all records.

“In the past few days, the Kingdom Choir has been repeatedly asked about the current situation of the Royal Family. In an interview that we gave in private, words that we did not say were put in our mouths. This has been very discouraging and distressing for us and for those who follow the chorus, ”they wrote.

They continued “for the record,” adding, “We were invited by Prince Charles to perform at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, which we were honored, thrilled and happy to do. Harry and Meghan were kind to everything they dealt with and excited about how any couple about to get married would stay with the music for their wedding. “

“After the wedding, Harry, Meghan and Prince Charles told us how satisfied they were with our contribution to the day, with warm thanks and congratulations.”
