Premiere of the 25th season of ‘Bachelor’ with Matt James reaching minimum ratings

“The Bachelor” was content with further casualties in the nightly standings with Matt James’ debut in Season 25 on Monday night.

In live + on the same day reviews, ABC’s longtime dating program scored 1.3 on adults aged 18 to 49 and 5 million viewers from 8 pm to 10 pm. This is the lowest score for a season premiere of the series so far, with the previous record low coming in 2019. The season premiere, with Colton Underwood, attracted an audience of 1.5 and 5.1 million viewers. This season’s debut also dropped more than 30% in the main demo and about 18% in total viewers compared to last season.

It should be noted, however, that the show is likely to have a good increase in the viewing delay in the coming days.

Later on ABC, a preview of Craig Ferguson’s game show “The Hustler” opened with a smooth rating of 0.5 and 2 million viewers, retaining less than half of the lead in “The Bachelor”. Still, ABC led the night in the main demo with a rating of 1.0 and finished second in viewers with 4 million.

Elsewhere, NBC premiered the 4th season of the game show “The Wall”, which obtained a rating of 0.5 and 2.5 million viewers. This represents a drop of more than 40% in both measures compared to the show’s third season premiere.

CBS and NBC tied for second in the night’s demo, with each chain with 0.6. CBS was the first in viewers, however, with 5.3 million. NBC came in third with 2.9 million. Univision ranked fourth overall, with a rating of 0.4 and 1.34 million viewers. Fox tied fifth in the demo with Telemundo with a rating of 0.3, but Fox was fifth in the audience with 1.32 million. Telemundo was the sixth with 971,000 viewers. The CW finished last with a rating of 0.1 and 656,000 viewers, showing only repetitions.
