HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is looking for the person who shot and killed a man on Sunday outside a tire store in south Houston. Authorities said the victim, a Hispanic man in his 20s, was a customer of the Pineda Tire Shop.
Police said several friends and family are mourning the loss of a loved one.
“Just full of emotions, family members. I can understand that, ”said HPD detective Eric Martinez.
Police responded to a shooting at a tire store on 4400 South Loop East Freeway.
“We found an unanswered man on the ground near a vehicle. There were several witnesses at the scene and the witness recalls that the man shot another man after a verbal argument. The man fled the scene, ”said Martinez.
During the investigation, police said they found 10 bullet capsules on the floor, but it is unclear how many times the victim was shot.
“It is very tragic that it should never happen. It’s a sad day, ”said Martinez.
Police said the victim was a customer of the tire store and a manager was there when the shooting happened, but saw nothing.

“There is surveillance on the property, unfortunately it is currently disabled,” said Martinez.
Investigators spent hours collecting evidence and processing the scene.
“We have good witnesses who can identify the suspect and we are working on those leads now,” said Martinez.
Police are still trying to find out the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
The victim’s name was not released.
