Police said the 12-year-old rape gang victim was “prostituting”

West Midlands police officers are accused of telling an alleged victim of a 12-year-old rape gang that she was “lying” about the abuse and told her mother that she was “prostituting”.

“I was 12 or 13 when I went to the police with my mother to report the first rape. But a female police officer accused me of lying and it just broke me. I got off track after that, ”said the alleged victim, who was given the alias ‘Karen’ by BirmingahLive, who was the target of a so-called grooming gang that operated in Walsall.

Her mother told local media that she “would have to pick her up at the police station after she was found by them, sometimes in hotels” and that the policemen told her “we think your daughter is a prostitute”.

“I could have dropped to my knees at that point because we were talking about a young woman,” she lamented.

The allegations echo many other findings of failure by the police, social services and other officials on the controversial issue of so-called grooming gangs, which are predominantly composed of Mulsim, predators in South Asia who target mainly white working-class victims.

The police feared facing the problem, which is ongoing, due to fear of being labeled a racist, and refused to intervene when girls and underage women were attacked and raped by dozens of men on the grounds that they were making “choices”. of lifestyle “- despite the fact that sexual relations with minors and, in particular, minors under the age of 13 are in all circumstances a very criminal matter.

The West Midlands Police were aware of the fact that grooming gangs were operating in Walsall, however.

“Groups of criminals were found in Walsall and Birmingham East, which also have the largest populations of Pakistani communities in the West Midlands,” admitted a police report in 2012.

“The proximity of suspicious addresses in […] Walsall suggests that offenders are collaborating in the identification, treatment and subsequent abuse of vulnerable women, ”he added – with the location of the area in question being drafted, for whatever reason.

‘Karen’ was also disapproved by social services, she said, recalling that in 2010 “there was a request for help from social services for me, but it just left”.

“So basically, after other incidents happened, social services in 2012 said that my mom and dad couldn’t protect me and it was basically their fault what happened to me,” she added.

She was then taken from her parents and placed in care, but the abuse continued.

“[T]s the men are still doing it now, they’re still out there and they’re still doing the same things they did to me, with the younger girls, ”Karen told BirminghamLive.

In response to the story, the West Midlands Police said, “We accept that there have been shortcomings in some historic cases in the past”, but insisted that “We always strive to put victims at the center of all our investigations and we will be led by what the victim wants ”- directly contradicting the victims themselves.

Breitbart London is unaware of a single senior police officer or local government official being held responsible for criminal charges, loss of pension or other serious sanctions, despite several admissions that grooming gangs have been allowed to operate almost with impunity over the years. years in many towns and cities.
