PlayStation players discover PS5’s secret DualSense control feature

The PS5 has been released since November, but PlayStation players on Reddit are still discovering features that many have overlooked. With the Xbox Series X, Xbox gamers have had no adjustment period, because the Xbox Series X user interface is the same as the Xbox One interface and because the Xbox Series X controller is basically the same as the Xbox One controller . For the PS5, Sony not only completely reworked the PS4’s user interface, but released a new controller that is so different that it broke the company’s DualShock naming convention. In other words, PlayStation players are still learning about their PS5. For example, if you hold the PS button on the DualSense controller for 10 seconds, it will turn off the controller.

This is not the only DualSense feature that many players have overlooked. Did you know that you can mute all audio if you hold the mute button on the controller for a few seconds? If you didn’t do that, don’t worry, many on the PS5 Reddit page had no idea that any of these features existed, and that’s because the PS5 doesn’t transmit any of that information.

Sure, it’s quite possible that you already knew about both useful features, but given that Reddit’s post revealing them reached the top of the page, it’s safe to assume that most of you reading this didn’t know about either of these shortcuts, as well as everyone one of the 400 people who commented on the post.

As always, feel free to leave a comment or two with your opinion or, if you prefer, contact me on Twitter @Tyler_Fischer_ and let me know there. Did you know about these two DualSense features?
