Phil Spector’s home where he murdered actress Lana Clarkson in 2003 is seen in photos

Photos of Phil Spector’s mansion in the Los Angeles area, where he murdered actress Lana Clarkson in 2003, emerged after the death of the music producer.

Spector died on Saturday in Stockton, California hospital, according to officials at California state prison, after recently testing positive for coronavirus.

He was arrested in 2009 for the February 3, 2003 shooting murder of Clarkson, who had appeared in B films, including Barbarian Queen and Amazon Women on the Moon.

According to witnesses, Clarkson had agreed, somewhat unwillingly, to accompany Spector back to his House of Blues mansion in West Hollywood, where she worked. Shortly after his arrival, Spector’s Brazilian driver reported seeing the gun-crazy music producer covered in blood outside the Alhambra home.

Spector, with blood on his hands, said to the driver, ‘I think I killed someone.’

Her lawyers claimed that Clarkson was suicidal and shot herself while sitting in Spector’s fake Louis XIV chair. According to her defense, the bullet was fired at the moment the actress ‘kissed the gun’.

Doctors found bruises on Clarkson’s tongue, suggesting that Spector forced a gun into his mouth and fired a shot.

Spector, who was known in the music industry for perfecting the Sound Wall recording method, bought the house in Los Angeles’ Alhambra neighborhood in 1988.

The nine-bedroom, 8,600-square-foot residence, which was called the Pyrenees Castle, was kept secure by a large closed entrance.

The mansion was built and decorated with medieval effects, with various armor on display.

The photos were taken in 2010 after Spector’s conviction in 2009. An ornate wooden desk was where Spector kept the gun he used to shoot Clarkson. The area also housed four framed photos of Spector with his ex-wife Rachelle Short.

The house has 35 rooms in total, including one reserved for iguanas, where he housed three lizards, called Godzilla, Laurel and Hardy. The house also includes 10 bathrooms, two kitchens, four garages and a beauty salon.

Some of the areas, like an office and a refrigerator, were filled with magnets, images and souvenirs. Inside the house, a small table was decorated with trophies, plaques and a lamp.

Musical memories seen at the Southern California home include a guitar that was once owned by John Lennon, a platinum record and a vintage jukebox.

Other rooms seen in the photos include a stocked bar and a games room complete with a pool table.

A set of sculptures was placed outside the property.

Also released were a series of photos of Spector’s ex-wife, Rachelle Short, whom he married in September 2006 while on bail on $ 1 million bail; he filed for divorce in 2016.

Short, a singer and actress, told The Sun: ‘I loved my husband and was proud to be his wife and it was unfortunate circumstances that led to this situation.

She said of the house: ‘I lived there for 17 years and did a lot of work to restore it. There was a lot of love in making that house a home, I have a personal attachment and love for it. But sometimes you have to move on and create new memories. ‘

Clarkson’s mother, Donna, issued a statement after Spector’s death, saying: ‘Lana Clarkson was a warm, compassionate, gentle and loving woman who would be 58 now.

“His energy, brightness and love of life have supported his family since his murder 18 years ago.”

Spector said that Clarkson shot himself, an argument that was supported by the testimony of the main defense witness, Punkin Laughlin, Clarkson’s best friend for 10 years.

In a bombastic interview, Laughlin claimed that Clarkson was in a ‘fragile’ and ‘suicidal’ state in the days before his death.

And repeating what she said to a Los Angeles jury in 2007, she told DailyMail.com: ‘Two days before she died, Lana called and cried for an hour. She said, ‘I’m going to get a gun and blow my brains out. I Don `t want to live anymore. And two days later she is shot dead in the mouth.

The prosecution, pointing to the court that Clarkson bought several pairs of shoes in the days before her death, argued that she did not suffer from suicidal ideation.

According to expert testimony, people rarely kill each other in the heat of the moment and almost never in the home of a stranger.

The jury also heard several other women who claimed that Spector had threatened them with weapons in the past when they rejected their advances.

When he was finally indicted for murder, Spector attacked the authorities, angrily telling reporters: ‘The prosecutor’s actions like Hitler and his riot thugs are reprehensible, unscrupulous and despicable.’
