Pelosi blames Donald Trump for ‘humanitarian challenge’ at the border, inheritance of the ‘broken system’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pointed a finger at former President Donald Trump, implying that he is to blame for the border crisis during an appearance on ABC News ‘This Week’ on Sunday.

“This is a humanitarian challenge for all of us,” she said. “What the government has inherited is a broken system at the border and they are working to fix it.”

Biden’s latest correction, announced on Saturday by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, includes a government effort to house migrant children with support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as the numbers continue to rise.

The speaker confirmed that there are about 600 to 700 migrant children currently approaching the southern border, which triggered the president’s directive to send FEMA to facilitate the transfer of children from border care centers to safe homes.

“This, again, is a transition from what was wrong before to what is right,” she explained.

Pelosi said the Biden government is trying to maintain the standards of the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program by putting in place a system that accommodates and respects it, while freeing the nation from what the government considers Trump’s “cruel” approach.

THE WORD THAT THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION WILL NOT USE WHEN IT IS THE BORDER? ‘CRISIS’

In keeping with Biden’s open border policies and promises to provide asylum to those who seek him, the United States has witnessed a massive influx of migrants across the border, causing an overflow in detention centers. According to the Daily Mail, the facilities exceeded capacity by almost 700%.

However, the government and Democrats like Pelosi prefer to refer to the overwhelming numbers as a “challenge” rather than a crisis.

In the past few weeks, the number of unaccompanied children and family units in custody has tripled and there have been more than 100,000 encounters with migrants in February alone. The dramatic jump directly followed Biden’s inauguration and his first executive order interrupting the construction of the wall on the southern border.

Last week, former President Donald Trump criticized President Biden’s treatment of the border crisis, saying the country is being “destroyed” by the recent increase in illegal immigrants at the border.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Trump pointed to his border policy victories as president, saying the US-Mexico border under his supervision was “in great shape” and was “stronger, more secure and more secure than Never”.

He also said that the border wall “would have easily” been completed had the Democrats not been preventing the project.

“We ended the capture and release process, ended asylum fraud and disabled smugglers, drug traffickers and human traffickers,” wrote the ex-president. “The Wall, despite the horrendous Democratic delays, would have been completed easily and is working magnificently.”

Trump concluded: “Our country is being destroyed on the southern border, a terrible thing to see!”
