Paul Bettany of WandaVision calls his favorite scene “big surprise”

Vision actor Paul Bettany says his favorite scene from WandaVision it is a “big surprise” that will not be revealed until later episodes of the Marvel Studios series. Now halfway through Friday’s “We Interrupt This Program”, which ends with the shock that Bettany joked that would “explode”, the episode of nine WandaVision is closer to answering your burning questions – including the mystery of how Vision is alive after his death in Avengers: Infinity War. Until then, Bettany is looking at episode 1, “Filmed before a live studio audience”, and “fascinating” Episode 2, “Don’t Touch That Dial”:

“The joy of doing the magic show [in Episode 2] it was very funny. Also, Episode 1, just [filming] in front of a live audience in the studio, incredible. But later in the series, there is a big surprise, “Bettany joked during an Ask Marvel session on Instagram.” There is an actor who shows that I can play scenes that I’ve always wanted to work with. The scenes are really explosive. “

When Bettany first suggested the cast’s surprise actor WandaVision, he said Black Girl Nerds that his performance as the synthetoid Vision mixes “a little bit of Dick Van Dyke, a little bit of Bryan Cranston, a little bit of Hugh Laurie”, referring to the stars of previous shows channeled by the Marvel Studios series.

WandaVision director Matt Shakman and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige consulted Van Dyke for the series premiere, which was filmed in front of a live studio audience in honor of The Dick Van Dyke Show.

“We had to give him an explanation, and he didn’t seem to be very fluent with the MCU. It was great,” Shakman said earlier ET Online. “He said at one point during our lunch, ‘Oh, I heard that you guys were very successful. This is wonderful. Congratulations. What did you just release? ‘ And Kevin, who is great, obviously Kevin is the brain of this incredible creative venture that was so successful, he said, ‘Well, yes, well, we just launched Avengers: Endgame. ‘ AND [Dick] it was like, ‘Oh, Avengers: Endgame? Oh, great. Fantastic.’ He said, ‘Yes, it is actually the greatest film of all time.’ ‘Oh, great. Which is! The greatest movie of all time ?! ‘He was like,’ This is amazing! ‘ It was so sweet to see Kevin realize and Dick realize what they were talking about. It was very funny.”

Asked if Van Dyke could be the secret special actor, Shakman said with a laugh: “I couldn’t say. I couldn’t say!”
