Despite the discreet interview, Dempsey still looked elegant in a black turtleneck and matching black glasses while he had his gray hair spiked up.

GMA host Lara Spencer first shared the news before the actor added that he was already working hard preparing for Disenchanted.

“I just received the script for the second film and I’m starting to analyze and take notes together,” he said, holding the script bound in black leather.

The Transformers actor also suggested that the fairytale film could begin shooting as early as spring 2021.

“Amy Adams is so amazing in that movie,” he said, adding that “it was a fun project to be a part of.”

The 2007 success introduced Adams as Giselle, a young woman in the animated fantasy realm of Analasia who dreams of meeting her Prince Charming, Prince Edward (James Marsden), and falling in love.

But Edward’s mother, Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), an evil witch, knows that she will lose all her power as soon as her son finds his true love, so she banishes Giselle to the living world we know.

But as she struggles to adjust to life in bustling New York City, she comes to trust the character of Patrick, a divorce lawyer who lives alone with a daughter who doesn’t believe in fairytale endings.

The film was a commercial success, raising $ 340.5 million against a $ 85 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

It has been reported that Amy Adams would return for the sequel in December, and Dempsey is the first of his main costars to confirm that he is returning with her.

Dempsey made another high-profile comeback with a surprise appearance on Grey’s Anatomy in November.

Even though his character Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd was among the many doctors killed in the long ABC series, he returned with his co-star Ellen Pompeo during a dream sequence, while his character Meredith Gray was ill with COVID-19.

Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff has suggested that other departed characters may return, and Dempsey will be back in some capacity from beyond the grave when the show returns in March.
