Pat Mahomes says bride Brittany Matthews’ pregnancy is better than winning this year’s Super Bowl: ‘It’s bigger than football’

But Pat Mahomes evaluated his upcoming marriage and found that he is about to become a father for the first time before his historic sports achievement, in an interview with KCSP 610 Sports Radio.
“Being able to be a father and be able to get married here soon, I’m very grateful for that,” said the 25-year-old quarterback.

The Texan native continued: ‘I mean, [winning] the Super Bowl was also incredible. ‘
‘But these things change your life, and it’s bigger than football.’
The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers by 31-20 in the game, for which Mahomes was named MVP.

The athlete also admitted that his main goal for 2021 was not related to his sporting achievements, but to his parents.
‘I would just say to be the best dad I could be,’ he said. ‘This is going to be a new thing for me, first-time dad.’
‘To be able to experience this and get through it, I want to do everything I can to make our daughter’s life the best it can be.’

Brittany is Pat’s high school sweetheart, who also had a brief career in professional football.
Mahomes asked her to marry him on September 1, the same day he received his Super Bowl Championship ring.
Later that month, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together.
