Packers teammate has great news for Green Bay

Despite constant rumors that Aaron Rodgers wants to leave Green Bay, a former teammate has other ideas.

Rumors about the Rodgers trade have persisted since his comment after the game caught Packers fans and the national media off guard. For those who don’t remember, Rodgers suggested he wasn’t sure if he would be back in Green Bay next season. Although Rodgers is an introspective person and enjoys living in the moment, such a statement after a deeply disappointing loss to a Buccaneer team is a cocktail for drama in the modern NFL.

However, Rodgers himself has since said he does not anticipate a change, and the Packers front office defiantly denied any interest in changing it. And now, Rodgers’ teammates are leaving the den to deny any possibility that the QB might want to leave.

Marcedes Lewis does not expect Rodgers to leave the Packers

“He’s Green Bay,” said Lewis of the future Hall of Famer, according to TMZ Sports. “If we want to do what we want, year after year, he has to be a part of it.”

Lewis is scheduled to be a free agent this season, and at 36 he is in a position similar to Rodgers, near the end of a long and successful career in the NFL. Rodgers, 38, is in a unique place, however. Having just won the NFL MVP at an advanced age proves that he is still at his peak, although his birth certificate may suggest otherwise.

Even the Packers had their doubts before the year. Green Bay summoned Jordan Love in the first round of the NFL’s 2020 Draft, shocking even the most influential of experts. Now, Love must wait on the bench in a similar fashion to Rodgers’ early career – be patient until an NFL legend is ready to hang up his boots or leave the only team he has met.
