Packages you didn’t order can be a scam

If you received a package in the mail that you didn’t order, it could be a scam.

The warning comes from the Federal Trade Commission and cyber experts.

Mysterious deliveries are said to be known as brush strokes.

Authorities say third-party sellers on Amazon, eBay and other online markets pay people to write false and positive reviews about their products.

A fake account is used to place orders addressed to random people.

Next, the brushers ship a cheap and generally light item in place of the more expensive product being evaluated.

The FTC harassed merchants who use false reviews, but it is not illegal to send unsolicited goods to customers.
