Outriders develop traces in the legendary creation of looting in boss fights

People Can Fly has slightly changed its stance in relation to the creation of legendary loot in Outriders.

Last week, in a comprehensive update on the reception to the Outriders demo, developer People Can Fly covered the legendary loot creation methods that players created in just a few days.

In particular, People Can Fly was concerned that players would find the legendary loot farm very easy / consistent, anticipating this part of the progression and potentially detracting from their own enjoyment in the early hours of the full game when launching. Outriders, of course, are in a unique situation because the progress of the demo is carried over to the full game.

So People Can Fly decided to reduce the legendary rewards in the demo by removing them completely from the chests, including those found after defeating the bosses. Unfortunately, this left players who currently have nothing more to do than repeat the boss races to serve with almost no reward for their efforts.

In response, the developer gave Chief Gauss’s chest a chance to drop legendary equipment again. Gauss is the only major boss fight in the demo, and it is a fight that players have fought for legendaries previously.

“After hearing reasonable feedback from the community, we allowed Chief Gauss’s chest to make legendary again, as we should in fact reward the boss races,” wrote People Can Fly on twitter.

All other chests, however, will no longer leave legendary items.

The Outriders demo has been played by more than 2 million players, and the game continues to rank high on Steam’s weekly bestsellers. The full game will be released on April 1 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
