Yocheved Gourarie, a 24-year-old Orthodox Jew from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, jumped to Vessel’s death at Hudson Yards, leaving behind a suicide note that she pre-booked to automatically upload to Instagram before her death. Before her suicide, she scheduled a touching farewell post on Instagram, assuring her family and friends that they did everything they could.
The EMS said Gourarie was dead at the scene after receiving a 911 call, the newspaper reported.
In her final Instagram post, she started by telling readers to “probably sit down” if they didn’t know what happened now.
She also assured people who read that “All of you have made my life much more fulfilling, brighter and happier than it would be without you. Your support, your encouragement, your hugs, your invitations, your smiles, your texts, your appointment in memes that you think I would find funny. ”
“None of you could have done anything – or done more – to prevent this from happening. You all did your absolute best and for that I am forever grateful. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that I am no longer in pain. ”
Her father, Avremi, posted the image of a puppy on his Instagram on Friday, expressing that she was “the cutest, most beautiful and kindest ‘puppy’ a father could wish for”. He also shared Yocheved’s experience at the Center for Change, “a wonderful residential facility in Utah for women struggling with DE [Eating Disorders]. “” We are just finding out how she gave herself to others (at the institution) and how many lives she has touched, “said Avremi.” Life will never be the same … it will take time to heal. Thank you all for helping us in this process. ”
