Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is gearing up for the launch in March of its sophisticated next-generation flagship device, according to well-known leaker Jon Prosser.

Prosser posted an image on Twitter on Tuesday of four phones, purporting to be Find X3, Find X3 Pro, Find X3 Neo and Find X3 Lite from Oppo, along with a caption revealing an apparent announcement date on March 11 and 14 Of april. The Find X3 camera’s “squircle” collision, which appears to hold four lenses, drew immediate comparisons with the professional models of Apple’s iPhone 12 line.

“Everyone is going to start with the iPhone copy comments now, but at least it looks different and pretty cool. It definitely looks stylish too,” said leaker Ishan Agarwal.

“I like companies that try something new and different, instead of just copying Apple,” wrote another Twitter user.

Oppo is not shy about launching gadgets that are inspired by the heavy design of Apple’s iconic products. Last year’s Oppo Watch was almost a clone of the Apple Watch, with its smoothly curved screen, removable silicone handles and even its white packaging.

Oppo is not a household name in the United States, but the Chinese company is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. It has emerged as a threat to Apple in recent years, offering features such as notched screens and sensors under the glass that are not found on the iPhone.

An Oppo spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNET.
