Olivia Wilde took to Instagram on Monday to commend Harry Styles’ work on his current directing work, Do not worry, dear. Wilde has been talking about creating a level playing field as part of his “hole ban” policy.
She says: “most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in films led by women.” Regarding singer Styles, who is acting in the film centered on the character of Florence Pugh, she noted: “He not only appreciated the opportunity to allow the brilliant @florencepugh to take center stage as our ‘Alice’, but he infused each scene with a nuanced sense of humanity. “
Styles’ praise comes after he replaced Shia LaBeouf in the film last fall.
The director had previously praised Pugh, calling her “the director’s dream” and praising his “racing skills + Tom Cruise’s Meryl” on the project.
Wilde posted another photo of her on Sunday with DP Matthew Libatique who seemed to indicate that the photo was wrapped.
Do not worry, dear it stars Pugh, Styles, Chris Pine, KiKi Layne, Gemma Chan and Nick Kroll, with Wilde as an adjunct. The film has a screenplay by Carey and Shane Van Dyke that was rewritten by Wilde’s Smart book partner Katie Silberman.
