Olivia Wilde, now the world leader for Harry Styles, is praising her newly created boyfriend for his performance in the upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling”.
The production of Wilde’s second feature film, a psychological thriller set in a utopian community in the 1950s California desert, starring Florence Pugh, Chris Pine and Styles, ended at the weekend.
To mark the occasion, the director yelled cast and crew members on Instagram. So when it was Wilde’s turn to toast the ex-boybander, naturally all eyes were on her post, since it is the first public comment she has made about him since news of her romance broke the hearts of One Direction fans everywhere.
Before celebrating his “talent” and “cordiality”, Wilde observed for the first time how rare it is to find male actors who do not mind acting as supporting actors in films focusing on women.
This may seem like a low barrier, but as Wilde put it, “Little known fact: most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in films led by women. The industry has made them believe that it diminishes their power (that is, financial value) to accept these roles, which is one of the reasons why it is so difficult to get funding for films focusing on women’s stories. It’s no joke, it’s hard to find actors who recognize why it might be worth it to allow a woman to keep the spotlight. “
But she didn’t have that problem with Styles, who got into the role after Wilde allegedly fired actor Shia LaBeouf after he exhibited “bad behavior” during the pre-production process and violated his “don’t be an asshole” policy. LaBeouf, of course, has since been dismissed by the CAA amid accusations of sexual abuse and assault by singer FKA Twigs.
“Type: @harrystyles, our ‘Jack'”, Wilde continued in the caption, next to a photo of Styles sitting in a silver convertible on the set. “Not only did he appreciate the opportunity to allow the brilliant @florencepugh to take center stage as our ‘Alice’, but he infused each scene with a nuanced sense of humanity. He didn’t need to join our circus, but he jumped on board with humility and grace, and he surprised us every day with his talent, warmth and ability to drive backwards. “
Wilde also shared separate posts about Pugh, which she described as the “director’s dream”, and his longtime friend Pine, who wrote that he is “one of the most generous, supportive, intelligent and skilled actors”.
Backstage photos also began to appear, with Wilde and Styles hugging each other in a photo alongside the cast and crew.
While their working relationship is coming to an end, Wilde and Styles’ romance seems to be gaining momentum, as the director was photographed carrying bags from the Silver Lake home she previously shared with ex-fiance Jason Sudeikis to the singer’s home. in Hollywood Hills on Sunday.
Wilde and Styles were connected for the first time in January. The two were seen hand in hand at Styles’ manager’s wedding months after Wilde and Sudeikis gave up and ended their engagement after nine years together.
