Olivia Wilde took to Instagram on Monday to make a Harry Styles fan, who co-starred in her latest directing film, “Don’t Worry Darling”.
“Little-known fact: most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in films led by women,” wrote Wilde over a moody black and white photo of the “Watermelon Sugar” singer. “The industry has made them believe that their power (ie, financial value) to accept these roles has diminished, which is one of the reasons why it is so difficult to get funding for films focusing on women’s stories. It’s no joke, it’s hard to find actors who recognize why it might be worth it to allow a woman to keep the spotlight.
“Enter: @harrystyles, our ‘Jack'”, she continued. “Not only did he appreciate the opportunity to allow the brilliant @florencepugh to take center stage as our ‘Alice’, but he infused each scene with a nuanced sense of humanity. He didn’t need to join our circus, but he jumped on board with humility and grace, and he surprised us every day with his talent, warmth and ability to drive backwards. “
Over the weekend, Wilde, 36, was photographed carrying luggage out of the house she used to share with ex-fiance Jason Sudekis to Styles’ residence in the Hollywood Hills.
Page Six reported exclusively that the pair were dating after attending their agent Jeffrey Azoff’s wedding in January. They allegedly met on the set of “Don’t Worry Darling” after Styles took over from Shia LaBeouf.
A source told Page Six in January that the former One Direction member, 27, was the reason behind Wilde’s separation from the former Saturday Night Live student.
