Olivia Munn says the Asian mother of a friend attacked in New York City

Actress Olivia Munn said on Wednesday that a man attacked his friend’s mother – an Asian woman – in New York City this week.

The 52-year-old victim was outside a store in Queens on Tuesday when the suspect pushed her so hard that she hit her head on the concrete and “passed out on the floor,” according to reports and the victim’s family. .

“She left the hospital with 10 stitches on her head,” wrote Munn, 40, on Twitter, along with a photo of the suspect. “We’re going to find this guy. Queens, Internet, please … do your mer-“

Police said the suspect was wanted in connection with the incident, which followed a verbal dispute.

The victim’s daughter, Maggie Kayla Cheng, in a social media post, said her mother was hospitalized.

“Hate crimes have no place in our community. How do you face a lady from 1.75 to 110 kg?” she wrote.

Two separate, unrelated attacks on Asian women also occurred in New York City on Tuesday, according to NBC New York.

The “X Men: Apocalypse” star spoke out against anti-Asian prejudice in a lengthy Instagram post last week.

“In the past few days, I have been speechless by the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes,” wrote Munn. “Racist, verbal and physical assaults have left my community in fear of leaving home. These hate crimes have skyrocketed since Covid and continue to increase, although we ask for help.”
