The manipulated 1963 Chevy Impala that was once owned by Kobe Bryant is coming to the auction block – and we’ve been told it should sell in the $ 250,000 range!
The car has a very famous and well-documented history. Kobe’s wife Vanessa went to West Coast Customs (the “Pimp My Ride” folks) in 2006 and asked them to customize something special for Mamba … so that she could present it to Kobe on Christmas morning.
The final product was incredible – the WCC staff rebuilt the engine, installed the hydraulics and applied a custom paint job. Important work has also been done on the sound system.
And look … the interior also had major works, as described by the auction house Barrett-Jackson.
“The interior has been beautifully reworked, with white leather upholstery fully studded with genuine Swarovsky crystals and offset by royal blue piping and carpeting.”
Damn it.
Kobe got rid of the car around 2013 – and it was later auctioned by Barrett-Jackson in 2014.
Now, the car is changing hands again – with Goldin auctions running the sale. The auction is live and there is already a bid of $ 100,000 – but Ken Goldin says he expects the car to sell for around $ 250,000.
The identity of the seller has not been revealed. All we know is that the vehicle is located in Indiana and the winning bidder is responsible for removing the car after the sale ends next Saturday.
Good luck!
