The Buckeyes offered a scholarship to Ellenwood (Georgia) Cedar Grove 2022 defensive tackle class Christen Miller just over a week ago. This afternoon, they offered another Georgia star, the 2023 defensive end Lebbeus Overton from Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton. Overton posted the offer on his Twitter account.
“Blessed to receive a scholarship for dual sports at Ohio State University,” Overton posted.
Overton is also a star on Milton’s basketball court. In fact, Overton has a very familiar sports background, as can be seen in his 247Sports profile:
Two sports athlete in football and basketball. His father Milton was a four-year holder on the offensive line in Oklahoma and is the current athletic director of Kennesaw State, working in Alabama, TCU Texas A&M and Florida A&M along the way. His mother, Eunice Thomas, starred on the volleyball court in Kentucky and later trained at the high school level before working on academic counseling and admissions at many of the schools mentioned. His older brother, Micaiah Overton, is a defensive striker for Liberty.
In addition to the state of Ohio, Overton has a list of offers that also includes Georgia, Florida, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and many others.
The 1.8 m and 250 pound Overton is a candidate for 4 stars in the 247Sports ranking. He is number one in the country in general perspective for 2023, the main strength of the defense and the number one candidate in Georgia.
The Buckeyes signed 5 stars with the defensive end of 2021 Jack Sawyer and will seek to sign at least two defensive final 2023 classes. Ohio State Defensive Line Technician Larry Johnson he is considered by many as the best university defensive line coach in the country and is also an excellent recruiter.
The Buckeyes do not yet have a 2022 defensive end commitment.
The Buckeyes are not yet committed to a 2023 perspective, but have a spectacular start to the 2022 recruiting class. They have commitments to the country’s No. 1 overall perspective, as a 5-star defender. Quinn Ewers Texas, 5 star cornerback Jaheim Singletary of Florida, another 5 star in wide receiver Caleb Burton from Texas, the No. 1 prospect in Ohio and the country’s second foreign linebacker Gabe Powers, Kansas’s # 1 prospect in linebacker Dasan McCullough, Ohio’s No. 2 prospect in linebacker CJ Hicks, Buckeyes’s No. 4 prospect in the offensive lineman Tegra Tshabola, potential customer # 5 in Ohio, cornerback Jyaire Brown, and two main narrow targets in Bennett Christian of Georgia and Benji Gosnell from North Carolina. It is a class of ten initial appointments, with nine of the ten being 5 or 4 stars. It is a class classified as the country’s No. 1 recruitment class in the 247Sports Composite team recruitment ranking.
