The Chicago Bears faced the position of defender in this off-season with intention, but it didn’t work out exactly for them. They have been in discussions with negotiating teams or potentially negotiating defenders, but nothing has worked out.
Most notable was Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who Chicago pursued aggressively. They even offered three choices in the first round, one choice in the third round and two players for Wilson. But the Seahawks informed them that they were not negotiating Wilson at this time.
Instead, the Bears had to settle for hiring veteran quarterback Andy Dalton for a $ 10 million one-year contract, which was not exactly the home run that fans expected after Wilson’s rumors.
Now, with the addition of Dalton, it looks like a guarantee that Chicago will be looking to add a new quarterback to the group.
One of the defenders who caught his eye – along with countless other teams – is Mac Jones from Alabama, who drew a crowd on the university’s professional day. Among those present were Bears’ offensive coordinator, Bill Lazor, the passing coach of coordinator / defenders John DeFilippo and area scout Sam Summerville.

Unfortunately, there is a good chance that Jones will not be on the board when Chicago’s first choice reaches number 20. That is why the Bears are supposed to be doing their homework in the Day 2 quarterbacks, given that there are endless needs that could be addressed.
So again, don’t underestimate GM Ryan Pace’s conviction. When he sees your guy, he’ll do whatever it takes to land him. If this is Jones, we might end up seeing him in a Bears uniform.
