Nokia entering the automotive market? | Nokiamob

When Apple announced that it would enter the automotive industry with its own autonomous vehicle, many CEOs of classic car makers made their first comments on the matter. For example, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess has said on many occasions that classic manufacturers need to wake up because many new players will be entering the market with new approaches to car design and usage design. He also said that Volkswagen needs to change quickly if it is not to become a Nokia in the auto industry.

He also said that the rapid changes in the business plan that Nokia made saved the company and that Volkswagen will need to do the same. Apple will bring better communication and connectivity technology to the game, which will make them more dangerous for Volkswagen than for Toyota, for example.

A Turkish website also mentioned something interesting that Dies apparently knows. According to them, Dies knows that Nokia will enter the automotive industry, but the site did not mention the exact plans of the Finnish telecommunications giant.

This does not mean that, alongside Nokia phones, audio accessories, TVs, transmission boxes and AC units, we will see a Nokia autonomous car with a Nokia logo on the front and a melody instead of the horn of a classic car. In 2012, Nokia was looking for a suitable way to expand the use-case scenarios of its numerous patents and began creating advanced cloud, communications and networking technologies that could benefit the digital transformation of the automotive industry.

Nokia is working on solutions for the manufacture of cars and connected cars and roads. I think these are the doors that Nokia has chosen to enter the auto industry and perhaps work with Volkswagen to create a connected 2021 vehicle that is smarter, safer and more comfortable to drive.

Congratulations Ibrahim for the tip 😉
