Nissan says it is not in talks to make Apple’s autonomous car: report

Nissan Motor Co. said on Sunday that it was not in talks with Apple Inc. to develop an autonomous electric car, Reuters reported.

The Financial Times previously reported that Apple had initiated brief, low-level conversations that ended with the Japanese automaker’s reluctance to make Apple-branded cars.

“We are not negotiating with Apple,” said a Nissan spokeswoman, according to Reuters. “However, Nissan is always open to exploring collaborations and partnerships to accelerate the transformation of the industry.”
