Nissan 400Z leaks in production form, looks totally incredible

The proverbial cat is out of the bag. This is almost certainly the Nissan 400Z production captured on video and in photos by some hero working in a warehouse, posted on the 400Z Club forum on Monday. According to the guy who was recording the video, Nissan shipped some cars to Los Angeles; one with automatic transmission and the other manual. Regardless, this car looks a lot like the Z Proto concept car, and this is a very good thing.

The best photos are of the 400Z with automatic transmission, displaying a beautiful gray color and a matching painted ceiling. Also note the front grille, which shut down some people with dark black accents on the Z Proto. Here, the finish is in silver / lighter gray. I personally think it fills the square shape much better than the dark black seen in the concept car. Then again, the Z Proto used a yellow tone highlighted with black accents, which same accentuated the square look. I don’t have much to say about the rear: it still looks absolutely incredible in my book, with those 300ZX-style taillights.

Hi!

400Z Club Forum

The interior of the 400Z looks basically identical to the Z Proto we saw earlier, except for the massive automatic gear selector on this car. It looks like the switch comes from new Rogue and other recent Nissan cars and it totally fits the most technological vibe. The meter set remains fully digital and a large screen sits on the center stack with three physical displays below it. The triple capsule gauges at the top of the central stack also remain.

Nissan did not say when it plans to launch the new sports car, but all signs were pointing to some time next year. At best, maybe this will happen later this year. The news of the company sending some production cars to the US is, however, a good sign that we can see the 400Z sooner rather than later. Check out all the photos below in the meantime.
