Nicole Kidman will star in an adaptation of the Norwegian family drama Hope.
The Australian actress, 53, will also serve as executive producer on the project, which will transform director Maria Sødahl’s aspiring Oscar into a series.
The Kidman’s Blossom Films banner will be working with Amazon Studios, which has an initial contract with the studio.

The film focuses on the 12-day drama in which the family spent Christmas together, during which time a marriage falls apart.
The original hope was starring Andrea Bræin Hovig and Stellan Skarsgård. It was a critical success, winning the European Cinemas Label award for best film in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.
He was also nominated for best director and best actress at the 2020 European Academy Awards.

Alice Bell will adapt the show and act as an executive producer.
She is currently working with Amazon and Blossom writing and EPing the next series The Expatriates, which is in pre-production. It’s set to be directed by Lulu Wang and star Kidman.

“I love Lucille, having looked and immersed myself in it now,” Nicole told Variety, adding that part of her preparation was showing old episodes of I Love Lucy.
