Nick Cave and Warren Ellis released a new album, as promised – their first full album without a soundtrack as a duo. Carnage was recorded during the lockdown and will receive CD and vinyl pressed for release on May 28th by Goliath Records. Listen below.
Cave described the album in a statement as “a brutal but very beautiful album, nestled in a community catastrophe”. Ellis added: “Doing Carnage it was an accelerated process of intense creativity. The eight songs were there in one form or another in the first two and a half days. “
Last album by Cave and the Bad Seeds Ghosteen was released in 2019. Last year, during the blockade, Cave held a piano concert that covered his entire career without an audience. It was launched as Prayer of the idiot: Nick Cave Alone at Alexandra Palace.
