NFL fine Saints RB Alvin Kamara $ 5K for red and green Christmas boots

Alvin Kamara was fined for his non-standard Christmas boots.

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that the NFL fined the New Orleans Saints $ 5,000 for their red and green cleats worn during the 52-33 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

In those peaks, Kamara ran for an NFL record of six touchdowns and 155 yards, with the Saints winning the southern NFC title. Consider that the fine is worth it.

After the game, the running back set aside questions about the general NFL bah-humbug stance on non-conforming shoes, knowing that a fine was probably coming.

“If they fine me, I’ll just call and send it to charity. Grinch always tries to steal Christmas,” said Kamara, via Amie Just from The Times-Picayune.

It took a week, but the league finally applied the minimum punishment.
