Bash pressed the issue, asking how the organization of their communities would contribute to their decisions. Bowman responded by listing the legislative objectives.
“We were able to bring the HR 40 to a vote,” he said, referring to the bill that aims to create a commission to develop proposals for reparations. “We need reparations for the African American community, we need a federal job guarantee, we need ‘Medicare for everyone’.”
