New Year’s Marvel Rings with Musical Medley

Marvel Studios celebrated the New Year with a special performance featuring some iconic MCU tracks.

Marvel Studios debuted in the new year with a special musical performance in China featuring some of the most iconic sounds from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Aired during the Bilibili New Year’s Gala in China, a Chinese orchestra sang “Marvel Studios Fanfare” by Brian Theodore Tyler and “The Avengers” by Alan Silvestri theme for an impressive array of lights and special effects. At the end of the performance, the conductor can be seen wearing Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet while the Chinese logos for Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals appear in the background.

On the MCU, Tyler’s “Marvel Studios Fanfare” can be heard at the beginning of many of the latest films, playing alongside the Marvel Studios logo. The theme of the Silvestri Avengers was first introduced in O Avengers before being used again in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. As the most iconic MCU track, it was also featured in a number of promotional and marketing materials.

Marvel has planned a very crowded 2021. On the film side, Black Widow will start Phase 4 on May 7 and be followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on July 9 and Eternals on November 5th. Marvel Studios and Sony will close the year with the still untitled Spider-Man: away from home sequence, which opens on December 17.

Phase 4 will continue in 2022, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25 and Thor: love and thunder on May 6, 2022 you will also see Black Panther II will debut on July 8th and Captain Marvel 2 will hit theaters on November 11, 2022. In the meantime, Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania is also scheduled for an undisclosed date in 2022, while Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will open in 2023.

Marvel will launch its Disney + 2021 slate TV with WandaVision on January 15th, with new episodes broadcast every Friday. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will continue on March 19, while Loki will debut in May. Hawkeye and Mrs. Wonderful they should also reach the streaming service at the end of the year. Finally, the excited What if…? is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2021.

Other TV series in development include She-Hulk and Moon Knight. In the most recent presentation of Disney Investor Day, House of Mouse also announced that projects based on Secret invasion, Ironheart and Armor Wars, as well as a collection of shorts following Baby Groot entitled I Am Groot.
