New SCDSS Child Support Portal

SOUTH CAROLINA – Individuals who pay or receive child support will have a new and more convenient way to manage their cases with the launch of a new autonomous customer service portal found on the DSS website.

The portal allows users to inquire about the status of their cases virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means that the questions that users normally need to call or visit a local DSS office can now be answered simply by creating an account and logging on.

After creating an account, users will be able to view their most recent payment information, any future hearings and update their personal information. In addition, parents will be able to make payments online, save or print a copy of their payment history, access service applications and even find a glossary of common child support terminology.

“Customer service is extremely important for DSS and the Alimony Services Division. To give our customers the access they need, which our current technology allows, we have created a Customer Portal that will answer virtually any question about your cases – from payments made and payment history to future hearings ”, Tim Mose, SCDSS Director from the Division of Alimony Services, he said.

Customers who wish to use the portal, after going through an identity verification process contained on the website, must first create a unique user ID and password. Users will then be able to review the main information about their cases.

The portal will also have a link to the main SCDSS website. A demonstration of how to navigate the portal is online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVxjzByrMys.
